Post-COVID performances
Quintessentially Wind is back performing with a new repertoire of music rehearsed in our gardens and socially distanced rehearsal venues. We are very excited to have had so much time to rehearse some lovely new pieces, some of which we played in two concerts in July 2021 and there will be further new pieces during the Fleet Choral Society concert on Saturday 9th Oct 2021 in Church On The Heath, Fleet.
Online Quintessentially Wind rehearsals
We have recently achieved successful rehearsals of the quintet online using Jamulus to reduce latency (delay times) and allow synchronised playing. It is not as good as being in the same room but definitely worthwhile. Simon created a virtual server just for QW. Robert created a guidance document which allowed each player to get set up and reduce their latency to below 40 ms (sounds like being 7 metres away from each other player). Several friends have now requested copies of this document and are getting set up themselves.
First performances after COVID-19
As outdoor chamber music will be amongst the first live music to reappear after lockdown, Quintessentially Wind is offering socially-distanced live music in gardens that are open to the public, or for private or public events. We have our own chairs and pop-up gazebo so we can be self-sufficient if necessary. If you are interested, email: anne@quintessentiallywind.uk.
